Thought I'd start this since we are getting close. The squads are being chosen now, and this is how it looks like for England: maximont theonecabs Any other English I missed? What about the other teams? Sigh I despair at the quality.... The '96 and '98 squads were great. Football not coming home this time.

Got to give it to Hodgson. He's making a bold statement by moving forwards with a youthful team. There's some bright players in there but they haven't all been really blooded yet. I don't think we really have a chance but he'll be giving youth a chance and they may come good in future tournaments. I'd rather have Argentinas team though lol.

So I guess for the record I should say I'm probably not the best person to ask as 1. I don't follow football too closely and 2. I am actually Scottish not English! Having said that I will still probably be watching the World Cup when it comes on

We know what happened when Ericsson drafted a 16-yo Theo Walcott in Germany 2006.

Well the intro article for Australia begins: As the lowest-ranked team heading for Brazil, Australia's fourth trip to the World Cup finals was always going to be a challenge even before lady luck abandoned it in December's tournament draw. Spain and the Netherlands, who fought out the 2010 World Cup final, as well as South American powerhouse Chile, presented the worst scenario for a nation with a newly appointed coach and a squad in transition. Australia: World Cup facts •FIFA world ranking: 59 •World Cup appearances: 4 •Best finish: Round 2 (2006) •Leading World Cup goalscorer: Tim Cahill - 3 So seriously England, show come ticker - Australia always punches above their weight and you guys have nothing to complain about with your squad. You've got EPL players on the standby list... If you want a laugh you should look up our provisional 30 man squad

Hey Zhou - he can't get game time anywhere. 4 of ten games in Oz before japan for a fail, then English championship loans at 2 clubs with little game time again. He went and got old without being a top tier player.
That Argentinian forward list looks insane Colossal!!!
