Well, mistakes have killed us. You can only play D so long before a mistake causes a goal. We definitely need some better players. There subs were just plain better then ours. It sucks a little to see a mistake in a missed pass result it a goal for the other team. Oh well, I guess that's the break.

Extra time was very exciting! I gotta give it to the US team, I was expecting a more one-sided game.

A few more things..... I stopped watching it seems to early. We actually scored once. I missed that. Also, its absolutely crazy from what they have shown on tv all the people that watched the game on. They opened up football stadiums here to allow people to watch the game. Simple crazy.....

Just finished watching US/Belgium game, had it recorded since I was at work. Guess this means I'm done caring about soccer for another four years. Tried getting into MLS after the last World Cup, but its just not as fun to watch. Oh well, it'll be football season soon anyway. Who Dat!

I absolutely LOVE the World Cup but I don't follow any national league and am WAY more into (American) Football, and it's every year!

Sigh that we lost against Costa Rica although they played with 10 players for 30 mins (including extra time) The inexperience and selfishness of some players hurt us. Good luck to the rest of the teams, I hope we can have great games PS: My prediction is Colombia vs Argentina in the final.

Every group stage leader passed this round, it's kinda rare. I will support France, Colombia, Argentina, Netherlands for next round because they play better and/or have more talented players. The exception is Argentina, because Belgium have a lot of interesting players, but it's more natural for a Lazio fan to support Argentina. I think they are also slightly favoured too, but Colombia may have trouble if Brazil needs help from referees.

I knew it, none wanted to believe me but I knew it although I thought it'd be 2-0. Germany winner against Argentina in finals, I'm still good with my initial pronostic!

I think it's going to be Germany (my second home, but also narrowly the better team), Brazil (narrowly again, although I actually want Columbia to win), Netherlands and Belgium.
Argentina have been wholly underwhelming in some of their games and Belgium are a lot tighter defensively than Switzerland and they struggled to get past them. Belgium also have much better attacking options. Without Sergio Aguero the Argies are relying far too heavily on Messi.
Going to be some good games either way. A pity France and Germany are being drawn in a quarter as I think both could've gotten to the semis at least.

Did anybody watch Brazil's game? How exactly did there player get hurt? All I could find out is that he took a knee to his back. I'm having a little bit of a hard time believing that it couldn't be intentional (without seeing it) since it crack a vertabra in the guys back.

Thats awful! Didnt see it but will check it out on Sportscenter. I would have read up on it more, but ESPN's website is complete hell to access on the coverage of the world cup. I guess I'll have to just see if its on YouTube, at least then maybe I can see what happened. From what little I read the guy was one of Brazil's best players. One of there up and coming stars.
