Got the key today, tried it and... not impressed at all. I'm TF2 veteran player, played it a lot extensively in the past, and it's definitely more interesting and enjoyable to me than Overwatch.
First of all TF2 characters are interesting and hilarious, basically the best game humor I've seen (subjectively) and it's what kept me playing mainly and unlockable weapons kept things fresh while they were releasing them.
Blizz characters are:
1. Cheesy.
2. Disney childish.
3. Not funny whatsoever.
4. One dimensional.
5. Mostly borrowed from other games or pop culture.
Gameplay wise, it's not noob friendly at all. You have to read up abilities of each of 22 characters otherwise I found difficult to figure out what they do.
I don't think this variety is necessary, they could've reduced the number of heroes so they wouldn't be that confusing. I play and I keep make analogies to tf2 (which is much more of "pick up and play" kinda game) and some heroes are very reminiscent of that and tf2 has just 9 classes.
Overall, game is definitely playable and blizzard polish is there, but I don't see it taking the world by storm, I expect it to end up in the same position as Hots: they tried to innovate but largely failed to nail the innovation, ending up with inferior to other games experience. Also, paywall will reduce the popularity of this game even further.
