Hi all! I've been playing Shadow Era for a couple years now and, recently, have been looking to join a guild. BP caught my attention because of its welcoming attitude toward all players and its community focus.
A little about myself, I'm a student living in Western Canada and I'm home-schooled. I've currently got a part-time job at a local cafe/bakery and roughly twice a week I attend a local fencing club. I'm also slowly learning how to play the piano.
I tend to spend my free time playing various games and diving into the different strategies that those games require. I generally prefer RPG and RTS computer games and tend to play card games physically, but I have dabbled a bit in digital card games (most notably would be SE and Eldhelm). I've also watched a lot of YouTube videos, Wikipedia articles, and game rules with regard to games such as the Warcraft TCG, LOTR TCG, Flesh and Blood TCG, L5R, MTG, SE, and more.
In terms of CCGs/TCGs, my major experience would be with MTG, which I got into around 4-5 years ago. I really enjoy the deck-building aspect of MTG and tend to lean toward a control-oriented play style. I play mostly with my friends, but I have also attended a couple of local, low-key tournaments. It was actually because of MTG that I stumbled across Shadow Era. I was looking for an alternative digital card game that played similarly to MTG, as I didn't really want to get into MTG Online due to the fact that it seems like it is a pay-to-play platform. That's when I found Shadow Era and saw its great reviews and streamlined game-play. After a quick look at the heroes, I chose Nishaven because his board-wiping ability was irresistible from my control-oriented MTG mindset and have since then worked diligently to improve my deck and branch out a bit into the other heroes.
I've reached the point where I want to become more competitive, which is the primary reason why I'm looking to join a guild. From browsing the forums, watching videos, and talking with other players, I've been able to improve some. I believe the guild environment will help me to improve faster, though I won't be able to be super competitive due to my studies and the few activities I'm in.
If possible, I'd really like to become part of your team! Thanks for your consideration and please feel free to comment and respond.
