Only two things went through Gravebones mind the failure of capturing the boy.
And reporting to master of the utter failure that had just transpired a day ago. The Lich king had just resurrected the legendary gravebone, a master necromancer who was once destroyed by Jericho the wise. hundreds of years ago in the last war. The fact that Gravebone did not get his revenge angered him more.
Gravebone opened the doors to the old dark castle an ancient one. where rothem once stood powerful and mighty. he to suffered a loss in the Great War. Some say he's alive. weak and decrepit.
Some say he is suffering a fate far worse then that. Facing judgement in the high heavens at the mercy of the Seven. For all of his dark and evil deeds. The castle was surrounded by a fog that has never ceased to exist. since the downfall of rothem's mighty kingdom of layar. The once, beautiful and mighty oak trees stand decaying inhabited by foul critters. The castle looks as though it would turn to ash at any moment.
Still Gravebone had to face the dark necromancer, known as the lich king.
And report his failure. Walking through the cast corridors would make any mortal feel uneasy, and not knowing the castles dark secrets. Would either make them die a slow and painful death or go insane.
Finally, reaching the doors to the throne room Gravebone knocked softly then heard a brief response.
"You may enter."
There he was in a mist of darkness. The Lich King. not even Gravebone himself thinks he's a human. as a matter of fact, Gravebone doesn't have a guess on who or what he is
And that is what Gravebone fears most about this Lich King. A necromancer far more powerful then himself. Guarded by a squad of shadow knights his most elite guard, soldiers who once led powerful armies and died in battle, who sold their souls to continue the fight against evil, deceived by an old and ancient demon became minions to the scheuth. Forced to fight the Good, and Rightous Templars they once called brothers.
"I sense you have failed to capture the boy" said the Lich king. In a calm, collective voice. Making Gravebone angry. What makes him think I'm his minion what makes him think he can insult me like that?
Gravebone lost in thought not even responding from his anger
"Minion answer your master."
This time anger was felt from his voice. Gravebone responded quickly "yes master I have failed, Jericho the wise. He engaged me in battle." the Lich king was not happy with this response if anyone could see his face they would have fear consuming their hearts. " I gave you unimaginable power, and your telling me you can't stop an old man?"the necromancer laughed "Ellos is strongly with him master he had chanted ancient and forgotten prays and our battle turned most of tycer into an ocean practically. his body and soul is now with his deity." the Lich king pondered at the thought. feeling pleased with Jericho the wise's death. "and what of his apprentice?" With disgust the old skeletal Mage responded."he's at Ellos's sacred temple with wizent."
The Lich king did not like this. The Templars grabbed him half way There. no way possible for me to kill them without Ellos's guardians coming to their aid-" raisng his voice "I said to do your mission even if it meant your death and the boys death! I thought you would not care to die at my bidding!" He snapped his fingers together.
Instantly Gravebone was in pieces and suffering great pain. Begging his master for his mercy, his forgiveness for failing, anything to make the hellish pain to go away.
He snapped his fingers again and Gravebone felt no pain nor was he in pieces. "Next time you pathetic welp I'll make sure you suffer for all eternity in this forsaken castles dungeon. Where nothing will save you. And I will forget you and your pathetic existence.do not fail me again!" the Lich king said with a stern, dark voice. he was making a promise one, that he would fulfill for the next failure.
"This changes everything. The prophecy is coming together for the boy. He will be Ellos's guardian of judgement. The Rightous hand of the high heavens." Gravebone frowned at this. "We can still alter the course of the prophecy we just need to gather more allies" the necromancer smirked at his minions comment. " we have what we need, but I need to go to turage ocean.
And make an alliance with a powerful water elemental to do my bidding and you need to be useful. resurrect the scheuth allies. And find majiya. Do not fail these two tasks understand?" With a slight bow "yes master I understand" then looked towards where the Lich king sat. He hated him. "Get out of my sight you pathetic pile of bones"
He walked towards the doors and exited the throne room.
"I hope the oracle was right about the crystal shard of power. that I can recruit ancient praaix. If not everything I've suffered was in vain" the Lich king said to himself.he then laughed "but evil always returns with a vengeance. this is something the seven can never stop. Citizens of balor, their souls will be mine for the keeping. And I will kill Ellos!"
His evil laughter was heard throughout the entire castle. It chilled the bones of the undead.
