original thread: www.shadowera.com/showthread.php?18999-My-trip-to-Japan! I really want to go Japan, It has been one of my favourite/most desired places in the world to go to. Any Japanese/ frequent travellers to Japan around? I would like some advice for my trip to Japan. I only have a few must have requirements, specifically: 1. Good sashimi 2. Harajuku 3. Clubbing Other than that, anything goes... So share your Japan experience with me, stuff to avoid or to try.

Then you have to try the sashimi in/near the Tsukigi Fish and Seafood Market in Tokyo. Went there this morning. I am not a big fan of the stuff and yet liked it a lot!

Hello wreon,
I used to go to Japan once a year, from 2000 - 2010. If you want suggestion about Japan trip, I'm glad to share my experience with you. What things you are interested to see? Where do you decide to go?

Hello wreon, I used to go to Japan once a year, from 2000 - 2010. If you want suggestion about Japan trip, I'm glad to share my experience with you. What things you are interested to see? Where do you decide to go? I'm going in January to Tokyo, shinjuku area. I have yet to decide on where to stay! I want to stay in a ryokan For an authentic Japan experience, but can't find any in the area. If that fails, I would like a decent place to stay that doesn't cost a bomb. So my first and most important question, any advice on lodging in the area?

www.khaosan-tokyo.com/en/index.htmlThis is a Ryokan with a lot of good comment from Westerners, you can read their sites. The owners know English well and they have lots of cultural gathering for their guest. I prefer staying in asakusa, just few stations to akibahara, and you always use central line to go hirajuku But the group have ryokan in both Tokyo and asakusa. Did you do some research? I can gather some link for you in few days. Sent from my GT-N7100 using proboards

After much discussion with my gf, I decided that she could only choose one: ryokan or personal toilet. So she has graciously given up on ryokan for a normal hotel. We are looking for a hotel now, in Shinjuku area, preferably near the train station.
Are all of them so expensive?? The cheapest we could find was about 10,000 yen. Any suggestions? Here are the few we're looking at at the moment. - Hotel Listel Shinjuku - Hotel Sunroute Higashi Shinjuku - Shinjuku Washington Hotel - The Shin-Okubo International Hotel
Thanks man, you're the King! XD

I lived in Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel. It's quiet and very close (10mins walk) to Shinjuku JR station. Website here: www.hotelsunrouteplazashinjuku.jp/en/I lived in Shinjuku Prince as well, but if you go with your gf, I don't recommend there as it is closed to Kabukimachi with lots of man and women using that hotel to..... you know what I mean. The cheapest Star Hotel was closed last year, so my recommendation should be Sunroute, I don't know if yours is the same as me, but the link I shown is very good. You won't be hungry or bored even at night. It is close to post office too if you want anything from akiba shipped Washinton got good quality with higher price. But personally I found that is not convenient as Sunroute Please ask me anything: food, shopping, games, manga, raman.......

The hotel got shuttle bus to airport as well, if your flight is from Narita, it has a station in front of the hotel entrance.....but not all buses will go, you have to show them the hotel name if you don't speak Jaoanese, they will understand.
