Ok since we have done games and movies, I thought I would introduce this thread. It is the only thing you can easily (without too much multitasking) do while playing the game.
What is your favorite music? This can refer to whatever you want it to be. Whether you want to post genre, band, singer, song, whatever you would like is fine.
To start:
I enjoy mostly Christian and whatever you call the music within the game. Celtic maybe idk. If anyone knows the genre of the music played within SE as well some bands to check out I would appreciate it. I have heard of Enya and some other bands but I am always interested to find more of this kind. I specifically the one that plays that sounds like its off Survivor haha.

This section misses a music related topic or I haven't noticed it, so feel free to post your favourite bands and / or singers here. Maybe it could be a good spot to know some new artist and add songs to my personal collection I start with: - System Of A Down: I'm not a great metal fan but they were damn good... short songs, stupid lyrics, no infinite chorus and the great voice of Serj Tankian are all I need to never get tired of their songs - Litfiba: probably unknown abroad but they're simply the best Italian rock band of all times, not that we have got lots of them ;D - U2: last albums are not that great but I can allow them to make some junk after all good music they produced - Guano Apes: I discovered them by luck on Virgin Radio and found that their last album was so great... not fullfilled by stupid songs like 99% of artists do, and I become a great fan of them even if I barely knew just 1 or 2 their songs last year - Rihanna: please give me the chance to hear some pop commercial, probably her trash music is probably the best right now - Subsonica: another Italian band, not as popular and probably as good as Litfiba, but the only one who we should be proud of - Sean Paul: OK, you have already noticed that I don't a favourite genre, don't you ? - Nickelback: it's good to see that a great rock band like them is popular enough to appear not only on specific radio/TV channels; they say that Kroeger sing always the same style, but who cares until he sing in such a powerful way? EDIT: Bad timing to open a thread, move this message into drhaire's topic when you can

Yes pandev, I thoroughly enjoy Nickelback and U2's album Joshua's Tree. I don'd mind System of a Down's song BYOB but other than that don't listen much. I left out the favorite bands/singers because I just associated it with music as whole, but it is definitely included. I will edit the OP.
Casting Crowns- great songs that can move you in a variety of ways, and I feel they have a nice variety of songs. Matthew West- He has some great worship songs Jason Aldean- One of the few country artists where I enjoy listening to any of his songs. Basshunter and Dubstep- A good alternative when I just wanna enjoy some base or techno.
I am not closed-minded when it comes to music, but I don't like rap unless the lyricist can speak really really fast like Twista haha. I am just impressed by that and respect their talent. However, I listen mostly to any Christian and always enjoy relaxing to some Celtic.

Depends on the mood actually. Kevin Kern during a relaxing massage is therapeutic.

I am very attached to lyrics, so songs with good lyrics always get me. In particular, Boston by augustana is one of my favourite songs, followed by blower's daughter.
I listen to most mainstream music, not really a fan of the weird genres (other than ska).

What is ska? and yes Boston is a great song. Have you listened to the mixed tape by Jack's Mannequin or songs by John Mayer. I like them too.

This thread is great. Boston, awesome song, I can play it on piano. I like Mixed Tape a lot as well, but I think Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin is amazing, lyrically anyway.
I used to listen to SOAD. Earlier albums were nuts. It's also crazy to look at them knowing that before the band, Serj was a very successful software developer for accounting type stuff. Who would of guessed. Love U2, I could listen to Bloody Sunday looped for weeks.
I'm with Wreon, lyrics are the most important part of music for me. My favorite band is Thursday. Beautifully written, all of it.
BTW, all the SE music is an original score made specifically for SE by... I forget right now, but I'll find it. There are many posts on SE forums about it. I know it's available for streaming and download from his site though.
Ska is usually a faster style of music mostly composed of brass instruments. Lots of trombone and trumpet. Most popular example would probably be Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
I'm done rambling, for now.

Thank niz let me know I will tell you if I find it as well. I will check out Thursday and dark blue.
Iron and wine is great I love their cover of the postal service's song "such great heights"
Another couple of great songs are hide and seek from Imogene heap, awesome lyric effects, and whole song is just her voice. Also the song hey ya but the cover from Matt Weddle it is an acoustic cover that I think is great. These songs are more about the music for me though. I will try and think of some songs I love lyrically.
