some tips for low MMR (<3000 imo) HL laddering (mostly from watching Danatan leveling 0 points B5 account to Master)
I don't understand French, but some of those were written in English and the rest was easily deductable from stream
- if you believe you're better than your current rank, feel free to be a bit overly confident and cocky (in a good way)...this mentality is not generaly overly valued in the world today, but you'll find those characteristics in majority of successfull people
-as Schwarzi said: Think big! That's the first step towards success.
now for some tips:
-you want to play strong, self-sufficient heroes -> good lockdown, good damage, good self-sustain: Arthas,Chen (current PTR version), Muradin, Sonya, Thrall
-this tanking/bruising role is essential because if your tank doesn't create space, your ranged damage dealers can't do too much
-don't get salty at your team, unless they do such inexplicable things which directly lead to losing the game (in that case, feel free to rage XD )
-try to lead the team as much as possible, but if they collectively decide to make the wrong call, back them up nonetheless (it's no good pursuing the correct call on your own)
-you're playing vs weak players, so try to do as much harrassement on your own as possible - killing isolated heroes, breaking the rhytm of the rotations, setup 1-man-ganks on routes you know your opps will take (because your hero enables you to pull these things off)
-tune the build to your own style, you don't have to take the best one if you're not comfortable with it...you're far from the pro scene
-best ranged ass is Li Ming, because you're playing vs people who will die
-don't count much on your teammates, they're bad (so pick heroes that enable you to do as much as possible on your own)
-playing without support is not the end of the world, your opps don't know how to deal damage optimally...not having a good tank who knows how and when to engage/disengage is much worse
-on low MMR every player is basically playing 1v5 in teamfights, so it's best to have strong duelists and independent heroes (wombos are a nice thing, but you're playing with people who prolly don't know how to utilize them efficiently)
