phew... I've never touched wow cause i have a lot of friends consumed by it... actually I stopped playing rpg's since like high school cause i felt it wasnt worth investing time on. However I did have a period where i was into competitive gaming and went everyday to arcades. Played initial D arc. ver.3 and tekken5 competitively. Got pretty good at InitialD, best in my country and 16# in the world rankings for certain tracks. Got into halo3 and supersmash melee too. But all these game only had like 3 years of popularity so I was forced to stop playing as the competitive scene died out.
Truth is TradingCardGames have always been my fav kind of games and I've spent more time playing them that any other game really. But at least I get to play with friends (when i lived back home)
We would also keep it interesting, we made big cardboard playmats with beer holders, and would play outside while hanging out in a group. Set it up anywhere, drank beers, skateboarded, speakers with music, played games, and if it rained... I would go drifting lol. So it was pretty good. I think tcg are healthy although money and time consuming.

The story goes on: finally one day, I decided to leave my game for 1 night and went out to the bar with my friends and it was the best decision of my life cos I met a great gal who is now my wife. Actually my wife knew me during all of this, but she was dating my friend :x The story goes on: but thankfully, I became smarter and stopped playing 'my dream fairy princess girlfriend' on PC after realizing that I had a real life swell gal just in front of me. I introduced that game to my friend and he soon stopped dating her. He is now still playing 'my dream fairy princess girlfriend' and reached level 999,999 and amassed 90% of all the mythic rare jewelry accessories.

Skurai. Amazing Initial D skills. Does real life expertise help then? lol, that was before i got into real life drifting...probably one of the reason that got me into it, as silly as it sounds... the game wasnt very realistic although the maps where very accurate and real. Good thing is, now I know a lot of mountain passes in japan like the back of my hand without ever even been to them (I play Forza4 and real life skill does help in it cause is so realistic. IMO it's a great game for drifters cause it helps sharpen and speed up the decision making process involved when adjusting for mistakes. also drift tuning and real alignment setups can be implemented)

But during this time I got into drugs a lot and became a heroin addict for 5 years, along with every other drug i could get. For last couple years iv been struggling to stay clean but now I finally think I got it. Are you serious? I'm sorry if you are, glad that you happened to manage the situation though.

Ok now that my work has been submitted, here is my confessions:
Hi everyone, Wreon here and I have a game addiction.
It started off with ultimate TCG, Magic the Gathering.I remember writing on my O Level exam spare papers the deck list of my next deck. I have no idea how I didn't flunk everything, I got really lucky.
After quitting MTG because I was so broke, I got introduced to DoTA. My best friends played it, so I was like what the heck, I'll give it a go. You see, I'm not the best gamer. I don't have a fast reaction, I don't have a great memory, but there's one thing I really liked - the idea of permutations and optimization.
So I was the ultimate knowledge player, I knew what could counter what, I could formulate moves quickly, I just didn't react as fast as I wanted and had an issue when it was crunch team battle time.
But after Dota died with my laptop's lifespan, Shadow Era really, really appealed to me once I got my iPhone and iPad. My issue with SE was the winning compulsion I built within myself, I MUST win a game before sleeping, and it must be a good satisfying win. One depressing night, I just could not be satisfied and I played from 11pm to 7am, straight QM (thank you millstalker).
When I went to Japan, I had no access to my tech. No games of SE. I had a highly ranked account that needed games, I had some tournies that were running... But after a week without SE, I realised I could live better without this obsession. So I quit without saying much.
Now I'm back, more cautious than ever. No more competitive games for fun, no more late night qms. Frankly speaking, I'm not here for the game anymore, more for the friends I've made here. Love you guys.

I got caught up in Diablo 2 for a bit. Magic finding to find items to sell on ebay. Once I started to realize it was starting to mess with my real life work ethic, I quit and joined the Marines. After the Marines, I again got caught up in another game call League of Legends. This time it was messing with my weight and family. I was spending to much time on my ass and away from my kids. The main goal with being an addict, is to realize when it's affecting your real life. Most people can't realize that or refuse to. That's why we are the fatest nation! Lol. Getting a contracting job overseas helps. Than again it sucks being away from your family.

Good necro..
I have to make a second confession.
I've tried to tone down gaming, uninstalling lots of games etc; but still, I do like to play games, and with the right mindset, gaming doesn't have to be aggressive and mood-killing. Even so, it is still time consuming, and both my studies and my gf definitely doesn't prefer me playing games all the time. On top of that, even though I reduced it, I started catching up again because somehow when you play less, every time you play, it becomes interesting again. Crap about that.
I have to start reducing again..
