Don't play Dota 2, play SE Test Server.

Tried it, not a fan. I just have issues with it from a design point.
Team Fortress, Portal, Left 4 Dead, all valve properties, all originally indie projects that GabeN not only bought the rights to, but the original team behind it. They have an amazing track record of turning indies into gold.
Thing is, all of those games, originally mods or tech demos in portal's case or whatever, all of them were picked up, had money thrown at them, and became their own, standalone, polished titles. They never once felt like 'just a mod', whether they used the hl2 engine or not.
DotA 2... sure, it's on the source engine now, making it technically its own game. And sure, it looks pretty. It's clearly not a mod.
The problem is, it still FEELS like one.
Look at the competition. League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, Demigod, Rise of Immortals, Smite, Awesomenauts, Crashers. All of these games take the original MOBA formula and create their own hud, their own engine to match, one designed specifically for the genre. Say what you will about LoL's gameplay; the fact is they looked at the gameplay itself and said how do we strip away the RTS elements and add what we want to add to make this game feel like you're not playing just an alternate game mode in an RTS. DotA may have created the genre, but LoL (technically Demigod released first, but you get the point) established it.
Then you look beyond the technical stuff, and toward the gameplay. Are there new heroes or items, new jungle, new anything? Nope. There's an alternate game mode that was thrown in for the halloween event similar to Valve's treatment of TF2, but otherwise it's the exact same deal. The only actual difference is that some names were changed to avoid copyright infringement.
DotA 2 is supposed to stand by itself, just like TF2 is a far cry from Team Fortress Classic. Instead, we got a glorified mod. It has some pretty textures, avoids legal hiccups, and it's on steam. Put that aside, and it's the same old game.
Regardless of the quality of that same old game, That little fact will always nag at me when I try to play. I just can't bring myself to enjoy it.

I'm having HUGE problems with Dota 2: updates don't download freezing the system instead, can't cast skills, it thinks I want to learn them, can't enable health bars...
And worst of all: I'm a noob :'-(

Dota has enormous following for what it is and its fans don't want LoL, they don't want another rip off, they want their game to be as close to original as possible, without new stuff, without dumbing the game down. They want to migrate swiftly. And Valve has to provide that authentic experience for Dota players. With few conveniences like matchmaking and some control enhancements.

Boweh puts the longest texts in the most random threads. Hahaha. I'm not a fan, unfortunately. But I see why anyone would enjoy it. I have played the WC3 map. A lot. But I got bored of the long games. I'd rather play CS.

I never said dumbing down. I'm not comparing gameplay between DotA and LoL or any other moba, just the hud, interface, etc. You can have all the same old heroes, items, stats, jungle, and whatever other crap. Just give me a UI that is meant to handle controlling at most a couple things at a time, not dozens of units. That's all I ask. Sure, you CAN control more shit in DotA than you usually have in LoL or the others. There's also plenty of champs in LoL who control multiple units at once, and all it takes is a simple alt or shift click to move them around, not creating control groups and detailed management meant for RTS gameplay.
DotA may be a moba. It may be the original Moba. But it doesn't even control like one. They leave all the unnecessary RTS elements intact. Worse than that, they actually set out to CREATE those elements from scratch for the source engine. They went out of their way to make sure there's as little reason as possible to transition from DotA 1 to 2.
I don't give a fuck if all fans want is DotAllstars. They can just go and play DotAllstars and get the same end experience. If I'm going to spend my time and money on a stand-alone game, I don't want a carbon copy of an already popular mod. You can just play the mod.
In short, DotA 2 does not exist because it is worthy of being its own game. It already IS a game. DotA 2 exists because icefrog and whoever else get more money from valve than they do from a mod community.
Imagine if every game manufacturer could pull that off, just copypasta their old code, update a couple textures, and sell it as a sequel instead of just a repackaging. The recent Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition comes out titled Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 3, Final Fantasy would be up to FFM by now, Serious Sam HD becomes Sam 4, etc.
Just because the game is called DotA 2 for legal reasons doesn't make it DotA 2. It's still DotAllstars, just in a shiny new wrapper. It's not a new game, it's just an old free game but with microtransactions.
I'm a little concerned that you consider any innovation or change making DotA 2 a rip-off of DotAllstars, yet keeping it the exact same makes it somehow different? I feel like you've gotten it backwards. DotA 2 isn't a sequel, it's a reskin and a ripoff. The original designers of DotA went on to make LoL, Icefrog only took over, and he's the one making DotA 2 (which is just a copy of the work done by his predecessors). If anything, LoL is the sequel and DotA 2 should just be called DotA HD.

There's also plenty of champs in LoL who control multiple units at once, and all it takes is a simple alt or shift click to move them around, not creating control groups and detailed management meant for RTS gameplay. Well the thing with controls and interface is that it's tricky to innovate in that regard, because Dota fans already got used to old interface and every difference may be gotten with negative reaction. It really should be an improvement to be implemented. They have some conveniences like team chat wheel and such. There are reasons for transition like matchmaking, for Dota it may be difficult to have matchmaking, you have to resort to things like Garena and such, it may be not very convenient. They really do that all the time with games like CoD or CS, well TF2 is significantly different, but idea is still very similar to TF, the quake mod. So that's nothing unheard of. Well, they are all technically Dota rip-offs, none of the Moba games elaborated on gameplay enough to be significantly different, except few like Smite, for example.

Idk, I don't enjoy mobas all that much, I think that heavy reliance on team is fundamentally detrimental to my gaming experience.
