I'm here as Raph suggested I might show how the non-foil SE physical cards got scratching edges. I finally decided why not making a whole thread showing the SE cards quality and compared them with my Japanese card collection? Maybe in the future Wulven can improve their physical cards and we have nice shiny foil
So, here I'm - SE Physical cards quality discussion!
First, if you have no idea of what SE physical cards is, please check the collectionking youtube video:
As you can see, the foil are pretty and in my point of view very similar to collectionking: the background can be improved.
Now, let me show some of my very satisfied cards:
Nice background, shiny and large image, well done!
Supernova! You really feel the awesome damage from the explosion!
Now, let me show a very disappointing card, it is rare by the way
What? It is a foil? Yes. It is rare? Yes. I think the issue is that the picture of GK is dark so that the foil really not working on it.
Now, let me show you some Japanese cards which done well even in dark picture.
The Heroes they tried to dim a little bit and use a lot of shiny and bright background. Also see this:
Even for the whole picture cards, they did well in making it all shiny!
Now. let's speak of the background. The Heroes cards like Amber and Zaladar:
They are nice and shiny, but the background are really nothing or very difficult to see. When compare to these cards:
Nice background really makes a HUGE difference!
Now, time for the non foil cards. The hardness and surface are very nice But I think the scratching edge really make me feel very bad as it is an avoidable issue with good quality control. Let me show you some pictures:
This issue usually caused by blunt or damaged blades when cutting the cards from the original card board. It usually happens in boardgame which the cards' quality are not the main concern. TBH, seeing these scratches in TCG cards really spoiled the confidence of big fans such as mine
The bottom line:
It is not bad for the first edition of a new TCG. The cards are nice, foil are shiny and pretty, the cards got good hardness and smooth surface. If you want to collect one set, they are available in the online store.
I think Wulven studio is very new in TCG industry so a lot of things can be improved. I hope they can learn from different TCG and improve their quality so that fans will be more and more happier when they open their booster!
